HPD Makes Arrest in Jackson Brothers Murder

Huntsville, Alabama (June 05, 2014) On May 21st, 2013, brothers Louis Anthony Jackson and Terry Bradford Jackson, were found deceased at the West Huntsville United Methodist Church on 9th Avenue here in Huntsville Alabama.

Over the past year the Huntsville Police Department Major Crimes Unit has continued to actively investigate these murders.  Earlier this year, new information led investigators to identify Richard Burgin Jr. (B/M, 06/30/1963) as a suspect in these two homicide cases.  As a result of the intensive and continuing investigative efforts of the departmentís Major Crimes Unit, this information led to the discovery of further evidence which confirmed Richard Burgin is responsible for the murders of the Jackson Brothers.

On June 3rd, 2014, Investigators obtained a warrant against Mr. Burgin charging him with Capital Murder in connection with these two homicides.

The Madison County Court ordered Burgin, who was already in the custody of the Alabama Department of Corrections at Draper Correctional Institute on unrelated charges, to be returned to Madison County to face the Capital Murder charge.  Today, June 5, 2014, Madison County Sheriff Deputies transported Burgin to Madison County Jail where he was booked on a charge of Capital Murder. Burgin is currently being held in the Huntsville-Madison County Metro Jail until he appears before a Judge.

This arrest closes the investigation into the murders of Anthony and Terry Jackson.
