Hit and Run Suspect Arrested in Connection
with Traffic Fatality

Huntsville, Alabama (August 30, 2013)  The United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, in conjunction with the Huntsville Police Department, have made an arrest in the July 12, 2012 Hit and Run Traffic Fatality that occurred on Highway 20 near Slaughter Rd.  In that accident, Brad LeLand Hill, a pedestrian, was struck by a vehicle and later died from his injuries. The offender fled the scene in his vehicle, but investigators were able to identify debris and other evidence left on the roadway that led to identifying the suspect.  A warrant for leaving the scene of an accident was obtained for the suspect, Trinidad Alonso (H/M, DOB: 11/12/85) a Madison resident. After several months of investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Alonso at a restaurant in Lincoln, Alabama. The suspect was arrested on 8/28/13.

The arrest of Trinidad Alonso on the Felony charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident, is a direct result of the outstanding investigatory work performed by the Traffic Homicide Unit, the Madison County District Attorney, and the United States Marshall Fugitive Task Force.

Alonso is currently being held in the Huntsville/Madison County Jail without bond.
