Huntsville Police Department Joins National Effort
to Reduce Drunk Driving Fatalities

Huntsville, Alabama (August 16, 2013) The Huntsville Police Department will join other police departments throughout the country in support of the
National 2013 “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign on impaired driving. The campaign, which will include high-visibility enforcement throughout
Huntsville, will run from August 17, 2013 through September 2, 2013.

“Every year, about one third of all motor vehicle traffic deaths involve one or more drunk drivers or motorcycle operators, it is simply not worth the risk,”
said Lt. Ken Brooks.

The effective nationwide drunk driving enforcement effort will include high-visibility enforcement, high profile events, and will be supported by nationally
paid advertising, creating a comprehensive campaign to curb drunk driving in August and through the Labor Day holiday weekend.
