Huntsville Police Accepting Applications for Next Academy
 

 

Huntsville, Alabama (June 13, 2013) The Huntsville Police Department announced it has begun accepting applications for its next police academy.  This will be
 the 53rd Session of the Huntsville Police Academy. “We anticipate starting the Academy in early 2014.  The selection process is lengthy and requires applicants to
 be thoroughly tested in multiple areas in order to be accepted into the Academy. Our Department is seeking men and women from all backgrounds who welcome a challenge and share our philosophy of community service” said Chief Morris.

Basic Eligibility Requirements include:

·        U.S. Citizen

·        20 years of age to apply, 21 years of age at time of academy graduation

·        Valid driver’s license

·        Graduated with a high school diploma or GED

·        Pass interview board, drug screening, extensive background investigation and polygraph

·        Military must have received an honorable discharge on DD214
