Huntsville, Alabama (March 8, 2011) On March 10, 2011 at the Huntsville City Council meeting, Officer Joshua Bates will receive a Lifesaving medal.

Specifically, on November 10, 2010, Officer Joshua Bates was working a secondary employment position at Continental Automotive. An employee in the cafeteria began choking on food.  Officer Bates noticed the distressed employee choking and quickly performed the Heimlich maneuver, dislodging the food and restoring the employees breathing.
