Huntsville Police Announce Downtown Road Closures for Panoply
Huntsville, Alabama (April 17, 2009) In preparations for the annual Panoply of the Arts Festival, the Huntsville Police Department will be closing several streets around Big Springs Park in Downtown Huntsville. The following road closing and opening schedule will be followed for the Panoply Festival to be held on April 24, 25, and 26, 2009.

Monday April 13, Signs announcing the road closings will be placed at the intersections of closed streets and will remain in place until the roads are open on Monday, April 27.
Monday, April 20, 9:00 AM:
(1.) Close the parking lane of Church Street adjacent to Big Spring Park from the canal to south of the Huntsville Museum of Art. All of the traffic lanes of Church Street will remain open during set-up, the festival and breakdown of the festival.
(2.) Close Lowe Avenue from Gallatin Street to the northern rear entrance to the Holiday Inn. Access to the Holiday Inn will still be from Lowe Avenue and from Monroe Street.
(3.) Close Monroe Street from south of the intersection at Williams Avenue, and before the entrance to the Holiday Inn, north to the south side of the exit from the circular drive of the VBC Ticket Office. Access to the VBC Ticket Office and VBC Parking Garage will be maintained during the festival set-up, the festival and breakdown of the festival. Access to the Holiday Inn, Embassy Suites, the James A. Williams Aquatic Center and other businesses adjacent to those listed will be maintained from Monroe Street.
(4.) Close Williams Avenue from Church Street to Monroe Street.
Monday, April 27:
All roads will re-open no later than 5:00 PM.
Ø Fifth Grade Days will be on Thursday April 23, and Friday April 24, from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
Ø Panoply will be open to the public on Friday, April 24, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, April 26, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
